During the exhibition, visitors to Nutriera booth came in an endless stream which including the representatives of local universities, the government departments, local enterprises and the feed industry counterparts of neighboring countries. The main communicating contents were concerning the farming technology of freshwater fish, marine fish and prawn. They all agreed that the aquaculture is bound to flourish with the increasing demands of local aquatic products and the growing developments of exports even though the current fishing in Sri Lanka is widespread. The prawn and shrimp farming of India which is near Sri Lanka not only has large-scale, but also in rapid development in recent years. But for Sri Lanka, it is still under the start-up stage even though owning rich resources in freshwater and coastline. Therefore, Sri Lanka government is starting to work hard to support the development of prawn and shrimp industry.

The organizers who in charge of Sri Lanka Livestock Development Department came for communicating.

Prof. NMN Nambapana from Ura Wellassa University and Doctors from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka came for exchanging aquatic technology.

The market of probiotic products in Sri Lanka is still blank at present. But after the communication and discussion between Nutriera experts and farmers as well as farming enterprises, they found out that the water quality and disease problems have been restricting the development of large-scale and high-density in Sri Lanka. Therefore, the promotion of probiotic products is imperative.

The local prawn farmers and agents came for consulting the probiotic and animal health products.

The 1st Sri Lanka International Livestock Exhibition and Seminar has attracted many attentions and participations under the strong support of the local government. This also reflected Sri Lanka’s determination of actively promoting and developing feeds & other related industries. Sri Lanka has a unique geographic location and climate condition which is very suitable for developing aquaculture, but technology and capital are the key restricting factors.
China and Sri Lanka have a long-term and deep friendship. Both parties have already started international cooperation. Combined with the Belt and Road initiative, we believe that there will be many Chinese enterprises to invest in the aquaculture industry of Sri Lanka in the near future. And Sri Lanka, the magical island country is bound to have a bright future in international aquaculture.
